P.R.I.D.E.: Personal Recognition of Individuality, Determination and Excellence
Recruiting and retaining customers through Quality Customer Service is the lifeblood of successful companies today.
No longer can organizations simply focus on meeting the needs of their customers, they must now strive to exceed customer expectations.
In so doing, customer focused organizations delight their customers thereby increasing their loyalty and keeping them coming back for more.
This approach requires the involvement and commitment of every individual within the organization. Each individual contribute's to the
organization's success as they demonstrate their P.R.I.D.E. and caring during their daily customer contact "Moments of Truth." Successful
"Moments of Truth" between the customer and associate, become "Moments of Delight" in the mind of the customer. These actions serve to
differentiate an excellent company from it's competitors.
Successful companies know that Quality Customer Service begins with the individual. They recognize that an individual's workplace
effectiveness skills can be linked directly to positive self-esteem and successful personal management. P.R.I.D.E. provides the
connection between the organization's success and the individual's self-image. Studies have shown that employee dissatisfaction leads
to low morale which results in low productivity and customer dissatisfaction. P.R.I.D.E. reverses these deficiencies.
Within each of us exists the potential for excellence. We all have the ability to stretch our boundaries, to break through all limitations,
to achieve our hearts desire. Why then are some people able to achieve things that others can only look upon in wonderment? What do they
possess that makes it possible for them to grab the brass ring when others simply grasp thin air? In a word, they have P.R.I.D.E.
The journey to P.R.I.D.E. is an exciting one. It is an exploration of our thoughts and feelings, our perceptions of ourselves and others,
and our attitudes about success and achievement.
- Pride is the magic key that opens doors to a world of excitement; a world of conquering fears and having dreams and never being too afraid
to reach out to another human being for fear of rejection.
- Pride is believing in yourself and your capabilities.
- Pride is having connections with other people that go beyond the surface.
- Pride is understanding how you make a difference in the world.
P.R.I.D.E is composed of four major aspects. Each one is an essential part of the whole. Together they create a balanced sense of who we are
and what is possible in our lives.
- Personal Recognition: Understanding how we feel about ourselves is based upon our perceptions of our past, present, and future.
These beliefs effect everything we do.
- Individuality: Taking responsibility for our lives and knowing what we want to accomplish allows us to celebrate our uniqueness.
- Determination: Striving to discover what is possible in our lives enables us to seek and take advantage of the opportunities life offers us.
- Excellence: Achieving a sense of balance and joy in our lives becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy as we continuously improve our
relationship with ourselves and others.
These four conditions or mindsets are necessary for an individual to feel a sense of personal P.R.I.D.E. They serve as the starting point
in each person's journey toward excellence and personal success.
